Littlejohn: Humphrey and Harriett

Humphrey Littlejohn and Harriett Metheral were married November 2, 1847 in the County of Devon, Parish of Sourton by the Banns Rites and Sermon, by the Church of England. John Cole was the assistant. They were married in the presence of John Warton and Martha Sowton, Oakhampton district. This information was taken from a certified copy of the General Register Office of Somerset House, London. The couple left England, sailed from Plymouth with their five children to make their home in Opps Twp in 1856. Their family of ten sons and three daughters consisted of: Arscott, William, John, Celena, Henry, Mary, Emmanuel, Mallissa, Samuel, James, Thomas, Albert and Thornley

Humphrey Littlejohn

Humphrey Littlejohn died from a paralytic stroke on Wednesday of last week at the residence of his son, Albert Littlejohn, four miles east of Glasston, aged 72 years. He was buried in Glasston on Friday.
